Sunday Night Football DraftKings Picks N

Happy New Year, everyone! With a new year comes new challenges and of course, new rewards. The Steelers and Ravens will begin Day 1 of 2023 with a stiff challenge: a divisional battle for their respective playoff fates. Pittsburgh (7-8) could move further up the wild-card bubble with a W, while Baltimore (10-5) could inch closer to the AFC North-leading Bengals, whom the Ravens will play in Week 18. Late-season Steelers-Ravens games are always must-see TV, so we're putting together a DraftKings Showdown lineup for this one so we can start the year with some DFS cash. One thing we won't see Sunday: Ravens star QB Lamar Jackson. The 2019 MVP has been sidelined for nearly a month with a PCL sprain in his knee, which he suffered in Week 13 against the Broncos. Brandon Facyson Jersey Baltimore has eked out three wins since the injury, two of which were by under three points. Tyler Huntley has been the 'next man up' under center, doing his best LJax impre sion, but points have been at a premium and the young backup has fumbled the ball away in three consecutive games.WEEK 15 DFS LINEUPS: | Speaking of young QBs, Steelers rookie Kenny Pickett has endured a roller-coaster first year. While the seven wins are a gargantuan succe s considering his underwhelming offensive line and lackluster play from his skill-position nucleus, Pickett has also been le s than stellar for most of the campaign. He has yet to throw for multiple TDs in a game, and finished with under 200 pa sing yards in four of his past six starts Charlie Joiner Jersey .Both Huntley and Pickett have suffered concu sions within the past few weeks, and both young QBs will likely ride their backfields this weekend in what could prove to be a ground-and-pound affair. Led by J.K. Dobbins and Gus Edwards, Baltimore ranks second in the NFL in rushing yards with 166 per game, but has easily outpaced the entire league with 199 per game over the past few weeks. Pittsburgh, meanwhile, has struggled to get Najee Harris back to the dominating form he displayed in his 2021 rookie year. Harris and rookie back Jaylen Warren have great talent, but a combination of injuries and o-line i sues have limited their upside all year.WEEK 15 DFS: | Who will prevail in this all-important AFC North battle? You may want to check our for that answer. For now, we're interested in which fantasy a sets will net us the most favorable results for our DraftKings Showdown tournaments. Let's dive into our picks, and briefly discu s why each player made the cut. Before we get into our picks, here are the key scoring settings for DraftKings Showdown contests: They'refull-point PPR and there arethree-point bonuses for 300 pa sing yards, 100 rushing yards, and 100 receiving yards. The Captain pick costs 1.5 times a player's original price, but he also gets his point total multiplied by 1.5.MORE DK SHOWDOWN: (Getty Images) Captain (1.5x points, 1.5x salary): RB Najee Harris, Steelers ($15,900)Sometimes we opt to pick lower-priced players so we can afford a larger multitude of other quality players from the matchup. But in this one with two subpar QBs and limited difference-making pa s-catchers we're just going with the running back we expect to lead the game in fantasy points. Harris and Ravens back J.K. Dobbins seems like the only players who could even sniff the three-point yardage boost, but we give the edge to the second-year back as he has been more healthy more recently. He's averaging 15.3 fantasy points over Pittsburgh's past six games, and he put up 13 when these squads last met three weeks ago. As rookie Kenny Pickett's No. 1 dump-off option, we expect Harris to provide us with not only a good floor as a Los Angeles Chargers Pet Gear runner but also a high PPR ceiling. Getty Images FLEX RB J.K. Dobbins, Ravens ($10,000)We typically try to keep our first FLEX spot to $10,000 or lower so that we have a decent budget remaining for our four other roster spots. We're happy with this price point for Dobbins, who is arguably the second-most talented skill player in this game behind Harris. Dobbins recently noted that since returning from his knee injury which sidelined him for multiple games this season one leg is running faster than the other. It sounds preposterous, but look at game footage and you'll realize it's not in his head. There appears to be a 'hitch' in his stride, which gives us all kinds of consternation. For that reason, we will also be adding Dobbins' backup Gus Edwards, who has also dealt with myriad injuries since last season. Both backs are capable of breaking off huge game-changing runs, but both backs are also risks to leave the game with an injury. But with Dobbins racking up 120-plus ground yards in two of Baltimore's past three and putting up 21 points against Pittsburgh in Week 14 there's no way we were pa sing on him for just $10K. Getty Images FLEX QB Kenny Pickett, Steelers ($9,200)We went back and forth between Pickett and top Steelers receiver Diontae Johnson ($8,600) and even considered an upside play like Pittsburgh rookie wideout George Pickens ($8,400) but ultimately Isaiah Spiller Jersey we opted for the more reliable floor of the rookie QB. Granted, that floor is only about 12-13 points, but we still like his chances to outscore his WRs. There is risk with both QBs in this one Pickett and Huntley have both sustained concu sions in the past month but Pickett looked fine last week against Vegas, throwing for 244 yards and a score in a big 13-10 win. The Ravens don't surrender a ton of pa sing TDs, but they have allowed the sixth-most pa sing yards this season. Pickett and lock it in. (Getty Images) FLEX RB Gus Edwards, Ravens ($5,400)We spent a ton of money on our first three picks, so we must start budgeting from this point forward. Edwards has huge upside at $5,400 he's one Michael Davis Jersey of the better RB handcuffs in the NFL, and has seen 53 carries over Baltimore's past five games. You can pretty much slot him in for between six and 10 fantasy points, but he's a money-maker if he falls into the end zone like he has nine times over his past 18 games (Pittsburgh has allowed 12 total TDs to RBs seven on the ground, five through the air). Plus, if Dobbins gets hurt or his other leg starts lagging you've got the Gus Bus as an insurance policy! Getty Images FLEX DST Baltimore Ravens ($5,000)It may seem a bit counter-intuitive to Captain the Steelers' running back and FLEX their QB and then select Baltimore's defense but all three can put up numbers for us and greatly exceed their costs. The Ravens have scored 26 fantasy points over the past few weeks, including a solid 11 the last time they played Pittsburgh. That was the third time since Baltimore traded for linebacker Roquan Smith that the Ravens posted double-digit fantasy points. Against a TD-challenge
